The M-Sorter (a Multi-Stack Sorter) system is a new cutting edge technology developed in Australia for sorting and stacking planed timber. The M-Sorter combines sorting and stacking into a single module. The modules are specially designed to make it possible to mechanically join to other identical modules to make a compact array of overlapping stacking units to which planed timber may be sorted directly.

In an M-Sorter, finish packs are made immediately the timber is received at in each module in an array. Just a few of the many features of the MSS system are:

The Linear Strip Placer employs the strip placing system developed for the Saatech Module Sorting System. That is, it is designed to load and place small dimensions pack stabilisation strips into to the finished packs made on convention stackers found typically in large planer mills.

The Linear Strip Placer can be pre-programmed to place strips precisely at the required positions along the length of pack, irrespective of pack length. Controlled via a PanelView colour Touch-screen GUI, the operator simply selects pre-defined pack parameters, which includes the number of strips to be placed in a row, and the number of rows requiring strips.

Typically the Linear Strip Placer will place 4 strips along a 6m long pack in 8-10 seconds.
